Any advantages of getting a combo Blu Ray/DVD player on a new computer?

Are there any advantages of having both a Blu Ray disk player and a separate DVD+/- RW player on a new computer?

Only thing I can think of is if one drive goes “bad”, I can use the other one still.

A blu-ray disc can store upto 50 GB of data.but at present no blue ray disc available in market.but in future if HD movies will be available then it must come in blue ray disc.otherwise it is not recommended for now.

If you already have a DVD/RW then it’s easy enough to add a Blu Ray player. It’s not often a drive goes bad. In about 20 years I’ve only ever had 2 DVD drives crap out on me. Go on, treat yourself to a new Blu Ray :)
