I’ve heard and read on my recent xmas present – Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray and DVD combo that some players can’t play all the extras on the disc, so which has all the latest stuff to do this(like profile 2 or something) and under £300?
Basically, which is the definitive best that will last me for some years, with great pic quality, decodes HD audio and is straightforward to use?

2) Equipment
With equipment I mean, the hard drive, the wireless network card, USB 2.0 plugs, FireWire, Bluetooth.
Even fingerprint recognition has become a standard now. Do now this!! Buy a laptop with your mind set to the future! What I mean by that is, if you spend little money on your laptop, it will not last that long as a more expensive one. Also, an expensive one (around 1000 € – 1200€ or 1250$ – 1500 $ USD) will bring better performances than a cheaper one.
I recommend you buy a laptop with a hard drive with 7.200 rpm. This will really speed up the time that is needed to load a program. Also take a look at the presence of Bluetooth, FireWire ( DV-camera’s), and if you find it necessary, a Blu-ray player.
3) Warranty
Unlike other product, you should look for a 3 year warranty. Most purchases come with a 2 year warranty, but if you get an extra year, you pay as little as 10% more and you’ll have years of “no-stress” use.
4) Specifications
Here we go, specifications such as the RAM, and how many GHz the processor has….Now this these technologies change from day to day, a benchmark with a slight better processor can turn out the same with a standard processor. It’s all in the details, sometimes you’ll have the benefit of your better processor. Dual processors are still standard in notebooks, there is (not yet) no mobile quad core processor. Maybe in highly expensive notebooks, but the question still rises : “ can it be seen a real quad core” . Intel’s processors starting from T8100, are better than ..well every processor that has a lower number…sounds simple
.
Also know that with dual core processors the difference between 3 GB of RAM and 2 GB of RAM, will NOT have much difference, as each core can only access one GB of RAM.
The video card of a laptop is quite different than a normal desktop video card. Its structure is very different and better video cards will boost up the price. How can you tell whether it’s a good one or not….well take a look at the price card, if it’s higher than say 1700 USD, it’ll most likely have some gamer aspects in it. The reason why I can’t give you any examples is , that this industry is changing so fast, if I give you any gamer video card examples, changes are big that tomorrow, I’ll have to edit them already.
Good news for the autonomy of the laptops in the near future, the Li – Ion batteries will be replaced by a new chemical battery. Expectations are that they’ll give a +40% boost . So that means that with today’s average of 2:00 – 2: 30 hours of battery , you’ll enjoy up to 3 hours of battery !!
